INNOVATION IN CONTINUING HEALTHCARE EDUCATION, TO

IMPROVE HEALTH, WELL-BEING, AND THE QUALITY OF LIFE OF PEOPLE AND SOCIETY.

We are the Continuing Training Institute of the University of Barcelona and we were born with the spirit of providing services to society. Our mission is to provide training continuity to people so that they can fulfill their professional and personal development purposes, as well as help companies and organizations improve their competitiveness through knowledge management.

The University of Barcelona occupies a prominent place at national, European and global levels in the most prestigious rankings that evaluate indicators such as quality in teaching and research, knowledge transfer and internationalization.

The UB has different University Hospitals (Barcelona Clinical Hospital, Bellvitge University Hospital, Comprehensive Health Consortium, Mutua de Terrassa University Hospital, Sant Joan de Deu), as well as other associated health and social centers.

UManresa of the University of Vic – Central University of Catalonia, is a campus mainly focused on health disciplines: Medicine studies (through the FES), Nursing, Speech Therapy, Podiatry, and Dentistry.

It has a University Clinic, and the CISARC – Center for Innovation in Clinical Simulation, as well as a close relationship with a set of health, socio-health and social organizations in the territory of Central Catalonia.

In a transversal manner, different lines of activity are linked to the health area: research, continuing education, among others.

An example of this is the Chair of Leadership in Values, directed by Pep Guardiola and Manel Estiarte, and which has a specific area of work in the field of health, to promote ethical and values-based professional practices.

UCF is a joint initiative of the Catalan Hospital Union and the Health and Social Consortium of Catalonia. Both entities represent more than 120 associated health and social organizations, which bring together more than 65,000 professionals. In addition, it has strategic collaboration agreements with the Catalan Health Institute and the Health Department of the Generalitat of Catalonia.

UCF was born 20 years ago with the desire to promote training and learning initiatives and programs that respond to the challenges of the organizations of the system, and the upskilling and reskilling needs of professionals.

In the last year, it has promoted more than 56,000 participants in some of the more than 800 face-to-face, mixed or online training actions, with innovative methodologies: digital simulation, gamification, mobile learning, elearning, learning and development itineraries, among others. Some of the hospitals, health and social organizations are:
